I have used nitrile gloves so far. They totally suck vs MEK. But the latex gloves last a little bit longer than Nitrile. Does anyone know of anything good that stops MEK from contacting human skin? I know sometimes you have no fucking choice.

Dec 24, 2007·Even though acetone is used as nail polish remover, I still don't want to touch any more of it than I have to. Nitrile is good for acetone. Butyl rubber is the only glove for MEK. Unless you feel your brain is functioning on too high of a level, stay away from MEK. Acetone isn't Kool-Aid, but it's much safer than MEK.

Methyl Ethyl Ketone (also known as MEK and butanone ) is an organic compound. A colourless ketone, it's commonly used as an industrial solvent in processes involving gums and resins, and can be found in most dry erase markers. Here you will find a wide range of MEK resistant gloves suitable for protecting hands against this dangerous chemical.
Apr 27, 2021·Nitrile gloves are resistant to alkaline solutions, as well as certain acidic solutions. However, if you encounter a strong alkaline solution, it is possible that the glove material may break down and deteriorate upon handling. Overall, nitrile gloves acid resistance is very good in comparison to latex gloves and vinyl gloves.
May 30, 2008·The breakthrough time of three binary solvent mixtures through nitrile and viton gloves was consistent with the hypothesis of solubility parameter theory. As case II presented in Table 7, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) rapidly broke through the viton glove with 5 min and no permeation of n-hexane was detected during 4 h in its pure
